Fine jewelry, honestly edited
Jewelry worth keeping.
Necklaces, hoops, studs, bracelets, rings, pearls and gifts, picked the way a good friend would: what it is made of, how it wears and who it suits. Every piece links to a live Amazon US listing.

The jewelry box
Nine drawers. Pull one open.
Each drawer is one guide with seven pieces I would happily give or wear, plus the details that matter: metal, plating, closure and fit.
Birthstones
A stone for every month.

The feature
Pearl jewelry for brides, mothers and everyday
Pearls are the one piece of jewelry people tend to inherit, so I treated this guide like an heirloom shortlist. Freshwater strands, a single-pearl pendant, button studs and a baroque choker, with honest notes on what “cultured” and “AAA” really mean on a listing.
“Last on, first off: perfume and hairspray are a pearl’s worst enemies.”Read the pearl guide

Care & sizing
The small print, made simple.
Ring sizing without a jeweler
Wrap a strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark the overlap and measure the length in millimetres, then match it to the size chart on the listing. Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are largest, and size up a half for bands wider than 6mm.
Which necklace length?
16 inches sits at the collarbone, 18 inches is the most common and flatters almost everyone, and 20 to 22 inches falls below the collarbone and layers well over the shorter two.
Solid, filled, vermeil or plated?
Solid gold is gold all the way through. Gold-filled has a thick bonded layer and lasts years. Vermeil is gold over sterling silver. Plated is a thin layer and can wear with daily use. Every review tells you which one you are buying.
Caring for sterling silver
Silver tarnishes in air, which is normal. Store it in a closed pouch or box, wipe it with a polishing cloth and avoid chlorine. Wearing it often actually slows tarnish.
Sensitive ears
Look for sterling silver, titanium, surgical steel or 14K posts, and avoid listings that do not say what the post is made of.

My story
I buy jewelry to keep, not to replace.
I started PureCarat after one too many “gold” necklaces turned my neck green within a month. I wanted a list I could trust: what each piece is actually made of, how the clasp holds up and whether it looks as good in daylight as it does in the photos.
So that is what I write. Nine guides, seven pieces each, with the plating, posts and sizing spelled out. Every product links to a live Amazon US listing, the card shows the current price, and if a listing disappears I replace it.
With love, from my jewelry box to yours.
